PLanning a tipi wedding?
It rained, it poured. But there was so much goodness about this rustic tipi wedding in Cheshire. Are you planning a tipi wedding? I am a wedding photographer in Cheshire, Staffordshire and the Midlands.
Anglo-Scottish relations were cemented at this beautiful tipi wedding in the heart of Cheshire.
Vicky is an old University friend and a fantastic English teacher so I really wanted to give her and her husband a great experience. As usual, I approached the day by trying to sink into the background as much as possible. I captured the story of the day in a documentary style. Interfering with the running order or getting in the way of the wedding is just not my thing, and i’ve often cringed at other wedding photographers muscling in and disrupting the flow.
I did a few weddings last year with the supplier Unique Tipis. Their tipis are beautiful for wedding ceremonies or events. They are just amazing for the festival vibe, and that bohemian, rustic feel. It is a rule that you cannot fail to have an amazing celebration in a tipi, or take a bad photo.
Planning a tipi wedding
I photographed Vicky getting ready at a rather nice Air B and B and we then made our way to the main venue. Honestly, i’ve never photographed a wedding where it rained as much, you can see how much in the photos…my cameras were soaked, I was drenched, and the skies were really dark. But I think this made for a really atmospheric wedding and it shows on some of the portraits. The guests didn’t let it dampen their enthusiasm at all, and there was a real ‘festival’ atmosphere as you might expect.
Craig’s Scottish contingent were resplendent in their kilts and volunteered to pose for a ‘special’ photo for me. You can see it below: the glass of my lens nearly shattered…
