This has to be my favourite of their setups, the tipi is set within trees, gardens, and beautiful winding pathways. It’s so atmospheric, so intimate and looks absolutely timeless.
Kelly and James were pretty weary before their wedding, they’d been waiting two years and had two cancellations because of the pandemic before their big day.
Their day more than made up for it, it was incredible! After a beautiful and emotional church ceremony in Long Whatton, the wedding party retreated to the tipi venue. There was a party atmosphere from the off, and I got loads of candid shots of guests and couple having an amazing time!

The highlight for me was later on, when a full on game of rugby started off on the lawn, with heavy tackles flying in, and one of the ladies showing her rugby skills (she plays for a local club) by absolutely smashing the guys out of the way and scoring loads of tries! If you’re planning a Whatton House wedding i’m not sure if you’re factoring in time for a game of rugby, but it certainly makes interesting photos!
The couple were pretty camera shy as they’d stressed to me on our Zoom chats beforehand, but that really didn't matter at all. I took them on a relaxed stroll around the gardens after their wedding breakfast and we got some really lovely natural portraits, that looked unposed.
I got stuck into the dance floor and captured the guests at close hand as they grooved (is that word acceptable?) to the live band and loads of classic Beatles songs. It was genuinely amazing to see people dancing and enjoying live music again.
